After over a decade of being on air and hosting hundreds of celebs on one of the biggest talk shows, one would think that Graham Norton has a few people on his list of terrible guests.
However, the Irish chat show host revealed his worst guest was an interview he described as ‘hell’, and it comes as a surprise.
And it seems that the interview has stuck with Graham to this day, despite having this guest on again on the show after their tumultuous appearance on the infamous red couch.

The worst guest that Graham has ever encountered is no other that Hollywood A-lister Mark Wahlberg. Chatting at the Henry Literary Festival Graham revealed all of Mark’s blunders that led him to receive the worst guest title.
Despite not seeming intoxicated upon his arrival for the recording of the show, Graham soon realised something was up with Mark as he chatted about his upcoming film at the time, Broken City.
‘Mark Wahlberg was a weird one because when he arrived, he didn’t seem drunk. He told me about his film, told me a couple of stories about stunts going wrong or whatever, and then it was only 15 minutes into the show when whatever the hell was in his system really took hold – and it was hell.’
Filmed in 2013, Mark was joined alongside fellow actors Sarah Silverman and Michael Fassbender, but appeared to take all the spotlight on the show with his drunken antics. The chat show host went on to say that no one could get a word in edgeways as Mark kept interrupting people’s stories.

‘No one could tell a story,’ Graham explained, ‘You tried to tell a story, he’d just interrupt’. Graham thought he had steered the interviews back on track, when Michael Fassbender had told a story without being heckled.
While Michael was getting into the heart of his anecdote, Graham looked over to see why Mark had gone so quiet, and realised the Oscar nominee actor had decided now was the perfect time to take a power nap.

‘I thought, ‘this one is going well – I wonder why’ and I looked over at Mark Wahlberg and he was asleep. So yeah, we don’t encourage that.’
Graham went on to explain that while guests are offered alcoholic beverages on the show, thy maximum amount of drinks they have are two-three at most. He advised any future interviewees to ‘pre-load’ before heading onto the show if they want to be drunk.
Graham’s revelation comes after the BBC announced that the show will be returning for another three series after this one, which has already featured A-listers such as Taylor Swift and Cillian Murphy, to everyone’s delight! With Graham spending more time in the UK now, he recently sold his New York pad for a cool €4.5 million.
