Three teens have been arrested following an alleged carjacking and police chase in Sydney’s south-west.
At around 1.15pm yesterday, police officers attempted to stop an allegedly stolen Kia Stonic on Azalea Place in Macquarie Fields.
The vehicle allegedly failed to stop before a police pursuit started.
The three teens are set to face court today. (Nine)
The chase – with assistance from Macarthur Highway Patrol, the police helicopter and the Dog Unit – continued towards Minto and Ingleburn areas.
The vehicle eventually stopped on Aero Road in Ingleburn at about 1.50pm, where three teens, two aged 16 and one aged 15, fled the scene but were later arrested nearby on Lancaster Street and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.
It will be alleged that at around 2am yesterday, the three boys removed a 19-year-old driver from the vehicle, threatening him with a knife, on Tupper Street in Enmore.
Investigations are still ongoing. (Nine)
The driver was not injured.
It will be further alleged that the 16-year-old was driving the vehicle during the pursuit while unlicensed.
Additionally, he was charged with engaging in a police pursuit, driving recklessly, and taking a motor vehicle with a person in it.
All three teens were denied bail and are set to face a children’s court today.
