Windsor police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by two vehicles on Sunday night in the city’s west end.
Officers responded to the collision just after 8 p.m. on Sandwich Street, police say.
The pedestrian was crossing the street mid-block when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle, police said their preliminary investigation has found.
“The force of the impact caused the pedestrian to be thrown into the opposite lane, where he was subsequently struck by a second vehicle,” police said in a media release Monday.
A 62-year-old man was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died.
According to police, both drivers stayed at the scene.
Sandwich Street has since reopened but was closed for several hours between Mill Street and Detroit Street on Sunday night.
