The father of captivity survivor Nimrod Cohen, Yehuda, spoke about his son’s time in Hamas captivity: “Until the end of February, he was with the Horn brothers, Sagi Dekel-Chen and David Cunio, and after Sagi and Yair were released, they remained as three. He didn’t really have access to media while in captivity. There was one week in August, during the Olympics, when they were allowed to watch television. There was no deliberate abuse.” He added that “the people of Israel were with us, helped us. They had a very important role: first, to keep the issue on the agenda and second, to push for its conclusion. Netanyahu ignored it, and Trump listened to Israeli public opinion, so we thank the people of Israel.”
