New numbers have been released for Nova Scotia’s ‘Need a Family Practice Registry.’

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says as of Oct. 1, there were just over 77,500 Nova Scotians on that list.

The last published number was on Sept. 1, when there were 84,069 Nova Scotians on the registry.

The release says the number accounts for those newly added to the registry, those removed because they were attached to a family doctor or nurse practitioner or those removed because they were found to no longer need a family doctor or nurse practitioner for a variety of reasons.

The NSHA says the percentage of the population on the registry now stands at 7.3 per cent.

Its next update will be in early November.
