Tamir Nimrodi is among the casualties identified at the Institute of Forensic Medicine. Tamir was not officially classified as deceased, but rather as someone for whom there were “grave concerns” and was not included in the list of 20 living hostages. The 20-year-old Tamir was abducted from the Gaza DCO base where he served, a month before his 19th birthday, along with two of his friends – Ron Sherman and Nick Beizer who were returned for burial in Israel. His family had not received any sign of life or information about Tamir’s condition since October 7, but they saw footage of his abduction as he was led away on foot. Alon, Tamir’s father, wrote on his Facebook account: “With a broken heart and unbearable pain, we announce that the body of Tamir, my beloved firstborn son, was returned tonight from Gaza.”
