Defense Minister Israel Katz eulogized the identified hostages who were killed, Inbar Heiman and Staff Sergeant Muhammad al-Atrash. On his X account he wrote: “Ibrahim and Salem, Muhammad’s father and brother, accompanied me many times during meetings around the world. In one of them, Salem nobly asked the Belgian Foreign Minister to act for the release of the female hostages – when he still didn’t know his brother was killed.” About Inbar Heiman, he wrote that “she was a special person and a true hero who fought against Hamas murderers. Her parents Haim and Yifat and her aunt Hana fought desperately for her return home. In several meetings I had with them, I heard about her talent in graffiti art, about her military service as a commander in Caracal and about the future she wanted to build.”
