It’s matchday eight for Leeds United in the Premier League today, with Burnley and Turf Moor awaiting and Troy Deeney has predicted the outcome.

Leeds United know it’s another huge game, but they are depleted ahead of the game. Noah Okafor is out of the Burnley game, while other forwards are also set to miss the clash this afternoon.

Willy Gnonto has had surgery ahead of Burnley, meaning their firepower is not what it could be. Nevertheless, some pundits are backing a Leeds result in their predictions for the match.

The Leeds United News team have provided their Burnley vs Leeds score predictions and collectively back a Leeds win. Others, such as Paul Merson, expect Leeds to avoid defeat vs Burnley.

Chris Sutton expects a draw for Leeds at Turf Moor as well. However, Troy Deeney has also had his say and he is expecting the Whites to go even better.

Deeney believes Leeds are better than Burnley and Sunderland, with the former striker having backed Leeds for relegation before the season started but Deeney has since changed his mind about Leeds.

A number of players will be crucial to survival, but Deeney absolutely loves Leeds’ Joe Rodon. In the absence of forwards of quality, perhaps the more physically imposing players will have to step up.

That includes the height and power of Rodon, which is the factor Deeney thinks will be the difference today. Speaking via his TikTok, he said: “Burnley-Leeds is another big game.

“Again, Burnley have to get off to the races, have to get these points against Leeds.

“But I fancy Leeds to be too big, too strong, too powerful. So, I’m going to go for a 2-1 Leeds win.”

Farke can take inspiration from Marcelo Bielsa for Leeds’ last win over Burnley in the Premier League, but this is a new-look side which is full of size and height and physicality.

Winning a low-margin game of this ilk may require those advantages, particularly from set-pieces.

Given the injury situation, it could be argued Leeds are simply unfortunate, or that it was negligent not to acquire more additions in the summer transfer window.

But Scott Parker has admitted he is impressed by Leeds’ recruitment, even if the Leeds fanbase are not. He said: ““It’s a massive game for us. They’re a highly competitive team. They’ve got off to a really good start.

“We know what we’re facing, they’ve recruited well, they’ve got a lot of quality — there’s a lot of similarities of what we faced last season.

“We’ll be ready, we’ve prepared well, and we’re looking forward to it.”
