Guhle has played five games this season, recording two points, including the game-winning goal in last Saturday’s win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Edmonton native also missed significant time last year with a quad injury that limited him to 55 games, where he tallied six goals and 18 points.
The Canadiens also announced that forward Kirby Dach and Patrik Laine would miss Saturday’s contest against the New York Rangers with lower-body injuries. Both are listed as day-to-day.
Dach, 24, has played all five games to start the season after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL last season, recording one goal and one assist.
Laine, 27, has one assist in five games this season.
Owen Beck has been recalled from the AHL’s Laval Rocket on an emergency basis.
