There are rumblings that the Broncos could enter the race for sought after free agent halfback Jonah Pezet.
It was reported this week that the race for Pezet’s signature was down to the Cowboys, Eels and Storm but according to Code Sports, those two clubs are now wary that the 2025 premiership winners are looming.
Pezet could end up staying in Melbourne but given that the Storm’s halves situation looks set, the 22-year-old will likely need to head elsewhere to find the opportunity he deserves.

Code Sports have reported that Pezet will make a decision in the next two weeks.
Both the Eels and Cowboys are interested in signing Pezet long-term, but is also open to nabbing the promising half on a loan deal for next year.
At either club, Pezet would form a lethal halves combination with superstars Mitch Moses or Tom Dearden.
The Broncos’ rumoured interest is an intriguing development.
Adam Reynolds is under contract for 2026 but the veteran half had several injury issues this season and was carried off the field in the decider due to a hamstring injury.

Pezet and Broncos five-eighth Ezra Mam could create a formidable halves duo for years to come, however Brisbane do have some salary cap concerns, especially if they end up signing Payne Haas to a mammoth extension as expected.
While he didn’t name the Broncos, Pezet’s agent Braith Anasta said on his BTFU podcast that another team outside of the Eels, Cowboys and Storm have shown interest.
“I’ll say this, the one’s that have been reported – Parramatta, Cowboys and Melbourne – are right. But there’s someone else that you’ll probably find out in the next few days that could surprise a few people,” Anasta said.
