Harry Kane continued his record-breaking start to the season by scoring the opening goal to help Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1.

Kane had already celebrated his quadricentennial strike for club and country in April 2024.

But he has now matched it without international football just over a year later.

With 22 minutes on the clock, the 32-year-old rose highest from a corner to flick a header beyond Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel.

It was his 12th Bundesliga goal this term, with the centre-forward destined to win the division’s Golden Boot for a third consecutive season.

Michael Olise doubled Bayern’s lead in the 78th minute, before Julian Brandt halved the deficit shortly later.

But Bayern were able to see out the match to claim all three points, with the club now winning all seven of their league matches this term.

They have also won each of their opening 11 games in all competitions this campaign.

England skipper Kane has found the back of the net on 104 occasions for the Bavarian giants.

A whopping 280 goals came during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, where he remains the club’s all-time top scorer.

Nine of them came at Millwall during his loan spell, with a further five coming during his brief stint at Leyton Orient.

And two came while he was on Leicester City’s books on loan from Spurs.

What records has Kane broken this season?

It was only last month that Kane brought up a century of goals for Bayern.

In doing so, he created history by scoring 100 goals for a single club in the fewest games possible [104].

With four Bundesliga penalties already this term, he has broken the record for most converted spot-kicks in the German top-flight.

He has fired in 17 successive league penalties in total – a league first.

Kane has also dazzled for the Three Lions this season – scoring three goals across the last two international breaks.

His recent double against Latvia helped secure England’s place in the 2026 World Cup.

But his brace also saw him break a 36-year record, which was previously held by Gary Lineker.

Kane has fired in 18 times for England while on Bayern’s books – the most amount of goals for a player contracted to a non-English club.
