Two teenage boys have been charged after police foiled two attempted carjackings in Melbourne’s east overnight.

Police allege the teenagers threatened to carjack two cars on Seymour Street in Ringwood about 11.15pm.

Officers, who were being given live updates from a witness, intervened during a second alleged carjacking attempt.

Police arrested the alleged offenders at the scene.

One attempted to flee and a taser was used to stop him, police said.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old were interviewed by police and both were charged with attempted carjacking.

The par will appear before a children’s court today.

Another alleged carjacking took place in the same suburb later in the evening.

It is alleged a food delivery driver was sitting in his car on Lester Avenue in Ringwood when he was approached by up to four people about 2am.

Police said one of the alleged offenders opened the driver’s side door and produced an edged weapon and demanded the keys.

The driver ran into a nearby property and was not hurt.

The group then allegedly made off in the Toyota Yaris, which is yet to be located by police.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
