Police confirm a man has died following a fire in the Tasman District this morning.
Emergency services were called to a property on Dehra Doon road in Riwaka about 10.50am after a report of a house on fire.
Police said one person was initially unaccounted for and was located dead after it was extinguished.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the fire were ongoing, and the man’s death would be referred to the coroner, they said.
