Mason Cox says he’s keen to continue his AFL career at a second club after being let go by Collingwood last week.

The American departed the Magpies after 139 games across 10 seasons since making his debut in 2016.

It included Cox, originally from Texas, playing in Collingwood’s 2023 premiership win in one of footy’s great international success stories.

And the 34-year old is still hoping to extend to extend his career in new colours if another club is willing to throw the 211cm ruckman a lifeline.

“Definitely. I think I definitely have more in me for sure,” Cox said on Triple M Melbourne’s Mick in the Morning when asked if he’s interested in playing at another club.

“You just want to kind of finish out your career and have good kind of cinema at the end, whenever it may be.

“I think I’ve got a lot left in me and a lot to give. I’d love to come and play for another club.

“And be valued to be able to bring something and help younger people along and hopefully play myself.”

Cox was let go by Collingwood alongside fellow 2023 premiership player Tom Mitchell as the Pies begin to turnover the AFL’s oldest list.

It comes after Cox played 10 senior games last season, returning to Craig McRae’s team in the finals and kicking two goals in the preliminary final loss to eventual premier Brisbane.

Cox likened his departure from Collingwood to a break up, but he’s ultimately grateful for the club that signed him as an international rookie in 2015.

“I think I attribute it somewhat to having a girlfriend break up with me,” he said.

“At the beginning, you’re shocked, then you go into anger and upset. Then you just become appreciative of the experience.”

Cox infamously kicked three goals in the second quarter of Collingwood’s 2018 preliminary final upset of Richmond during a golden era for the Tigers, who won flags in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

So what about a Cox-Richmond link up?

“As a guy who doesn’t have a job and is looking for a club, I just want to say I apologise to all the Richmond supporters out there,” he cheekily said.

“Hopefully at some point maybe I can help out, I don’t know.

“Do you think they’d ever forgive me, though?
