A Hamilton EMS ambulance was firebombed this morning in the ambulance bay at Hamilton’s General Hospital.
Hospital security video, publicly circulating online, shows a man walk up to the ambulance, throw an incendiary devices into the front cabin, walk away, and then moments later the vehicle is engulfed in flames.
There have been no updates from Hamilton Police or the City of Hamilton regarding the incident.
It is not known if the suspect has been arrested by Hamilton Police.
The destroyed ambulance was a newer vehicle. Hamilton’s paramedic service has spare ambulances to ensure continuity of service during routine maintenance and unplanned mechanical failure.
TPR will follow up with City officials on Monday.
