Ballyboden St Enda’s are back on top in Dublin. On Saturday night at Parnell Park, they claimed their first Dublin Senior Football Championship since 2019 with a 1-16 to 1-12 win over Na Fianna, a powerful second-half performance sealing the deal.
Dublin star Colm Basquel took home Man of the Match honours, adding yet another medal to a glittering CV that already includes five All-Irelands with Dublin, one All-Star, two Leinster club titles, one club All-Ireland and a third county title with Boden. However, Colm Basquel was quick to direct the spotlight elsewhere after the final whistle.
Colm Basquel Full of Praise For Galway Star After Ballyboden Clinch Dublin Title
Basquel was full of praise for Cein Darcy, the Galway star whose second-half goal turned the tide. Darcy, who transferred from Caherlistrane to Ballyboden in 2023, made his mark in just his second county final for the club.
The effort that we put in all year really and the last few weeks we just kept upping it and just unbelievable to get over the line against a great team.
We knew if we kept playing and kept keeping the scoreboard ticking over that the scores would come. It’s just unbelievable, I can’t sum it up, it’s unbelievable for everyone, for the club.
What a goal by Cein Darcy there, what a man to have on your team. It’s a new group and hungry to go and win trophies like the Clerys Cup and we’re going to enjoy this one, it’s very sweet.”

Darcy’s goal came at a crucial juncture, stretching Boden’s lead and putting the result beyond Na Fianna. It gave Ballyboden the breathing space they needed to seal the deal and win their fifth county title.
Basquel himself was immense throughout the campaign, and particularly in the final. His scoring, movement, and leadership were all on show as Ballyboden saw off a spirited Na Fianna side who were bidding for their first Dublin crown in 24 years.
But for a team with the intercounty quality of Colm Basquel, Alex Gavin and Ross McGarry along with outside additions like Cein Darcy and Kerry’s Pa Warren making major impacts, this looks like a Boden side eager to push on again.
They now march into the Leinster Club Championship as Dublin representatives, a title that shoots them to the top of the favourites board to claim provincial honours.
