Paris 2024 semi-finalist Lakshya Sen and Asian Games doubles champions Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will spearhead India’s challenge at the French Open 2025 badminton tournament, starting Tuesday.

Badminton matches from the French Open 2025, a BWF Super 750 tournament, will be available for live streaming in India. The tournament will be held at the Glaz Arena in Cesson-Sevigne.

The Indian squad for the French Open remains largely unchanged from last week’s Denmark Open.

Chirag and Satwik, who finished runners-up at both the Hong Kong Open and China Masters last month, suffered their sixth semi-final exit of the season in Odense. The world No. 7 pair will be determined to clinch their first title of the BWF World Tour 2025 season.

Lakshya Sen, meanwhile, has endured an inconsistent year, with 10 first-round exits.

However, his recent run to the Denmark Open quarter-finals included a win over world No. 2 Anders Antonsen. The 23-year-old Indian badminton player’s best result this season came at the Hong Kong Open, where he finished runner-up.

Ayush Shetty, who captured his maiden BWF World Tour title at the US Open earlier this year, joins Sen in men’s singles. He enters the French Open on the back of four consecutive opening-round defeats.

In women’s singles, Anmol Kharb – semi-finalist at the Arctic Open Super 500 tournament earlier this month – headlines the draw alongside Unnati Hooda, who made headlines by beating PV Sindhu en route to the China Open quarter-finals. Sindhu, originally entered, has withdrawn from the tournament.

Paris 2024 Olympian Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila will lead India’s mixed doubles hopes, while Kavipriya Selvam-Simran Singhi and Rutaparna-Swetaparna Panda will be in action in women’s doubles.
