National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir addressed the cancellation of the Tel Aviv derby yesterday. He said that “the decision was made by the district commander, I support him and believe the police acted correctly.” He added: “From what I’ve seen, this was a reasonable use of force. Of course, if it turns out that any of the officers violated the law – it will be investigated as required. Sports events are not supposed to be battlefields and pogroms, and I regret that there is a violent minority that ruins the sports experience for tens of thousands of fans who come to enjoy.”
