The August 31 March for Australia that was led through Melbourne by the neo-Nazi National Socialist Network (NSN) saw repeated, large-scale clashes with counterprotesters. This past weekend, Victoria Police were intent on preventing contact between opposing groups.

Many NSN members have since been arrested and charged with varying offenses, many relating to an attack against Indigenous site Camp Sovereignty that occurred after the August rally. After this, and much media attention directed at how a neo-Nazi group was able to partake in, and organise, large rallies around Australia, NSN leadership announced online that the group would not be attending the next March for Australia rally on October 19.
