US Vice President JD Vance visited the base of a multinational monitoring force near Gaza as one of his first stops on a three-day trip to Israel, seeking to bolster faith in a peace plan that’s got off to an uncertain start.

Vance landed in Tel Aviv just over a week after President Donald Trump unveiled his agreement to end the two-year war between Israel and Hamas, starting with a ceasefire and exchange of Hamas’s last living hostages for almost 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
