The Toronto Blue Jays are heading to the World Series.

No, seriously: the Toronto Blue Jays are heading to the World Series, and will be hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night for Game 1.

For the first time in 32 years, the only MLB team in Canada is on their way to the biggest stage in baseball.

The Blue Jays punched their ticket with a 4-3 win in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series over the Seattle Mariners, in a victory that won’t soon be forgotten by anyone who watched it.

And while the city wasn’t exactly torn apart after the victory, there was quite a spillover into the streets of Toronto after the win.

Sportsnet caught tons of Blue Jays fans outside of Blue Jays Gate 5, a typical hanging spot while waiting to get into the Rogers Centre.

CBC’s Devin Heroux was also on scene in the crowd, before spilling out into the streets to catch a bit of the fan action.

While the warm-weather celebrations of the Raptors advancing to the 2019 NBA Finals (and later winning) eclipsed the most wild street parties the city’s ever had, Blue Jays fans definitely took over the city streets for a solid chunk of time following the game.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider was feeling the love from coast to coast.

“It’s special for everyone that’s involved with our organization,” he said postgame. “We’re the only team that gets to experience [representing a whole country], and we’re the only team that has the following that we do and the viewership that we do.”
