Jahream Bula’s future at the Tigers has become even more cloudy after the club made a brutal call, deciding not to give his wife an NRLW contract for next season.
Bula could be on his way out of the merger club at the end of the 2026 season, and as it stands he will hit the open market come November 1.
The SMH’s Michael Chammas previously reported that Bula has a mutual option in his contract for 2027, which would see his current $700,000 salary jump to $900,000.

“I don’t think there’s an appetite from the Wests Tigers to activate his trigger at $800,000,” he said on Triple M.
“I actually agree, I don’t think he’s worth that… His agent is seeking expressions from rival clubs, his agent being Isaac Moses,” Chammas continued.
“The way it works is if Jahream wants to stay at the Tigers, it’ll cost them $900,000 but if he’s not doing that well, he’s got a safety net and the Tigers can pick him up at $800,000.”
Now, according to WWOS, it’s even more unlikely Bula will remain at the Tigers after he was left with a bad taste in his mouth after his wife wasn’t handed an NRLW contract.
Bula married Aaliyah, the wife of former Sea Eagles and Bulldogs star, earlier this year and she held a development contract with the club this season.
Bula is also managed by infamous player agent Isaac Moses, who helped Lachlan Galvin leave the Tigers midway through the 2025 season.

The 23-year-old reminded the Tigers why he was handed his lucrative contract in the first place with a four-try performance for Fiji to down the Cook Islands on Saturday.
Given he could be available for the 2027 season, Bula shapes as a prime recruitment option for the Perth Bears.
However, the gun fullback could also trigger his option and be free to join the PNG Chiefs the following year, where he could be set to earn a mouth-watering pay packet.
