Camila Cabello is back in her acting bag. On Tuesday, Warner Bros. announced that the “I Luv It” musician and Cinderella actress will join the cast for Cut Off, a new comedy film directed by Jonah Hill, who will also star alongside Kristen Wiig.

Langston Kerman, who’s in the Abbott Elementary cast, will also join the cast. Cut Off, which was written by Hill and Ezra Woods, will follow two rich siblings, played by Hill and Wiig, who are cut off from their parents’ money. Nathan Lane and Bette Midler are set to play the parents.

It’s unclear what roles Cabello and Kerman will play in the movie, which is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 17, 2026. According to Deadline, the film is being shot in California and is being co-produced by Hill, Matt Dines, and Ali Goodwin for Strong Bay.

Cabello has previously flexed her acting chops, after playing the titular character in Kay Cannon’s Cinderella, appearing in Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Rob Peace, and voicing a troll in Trolls Band Together.

When speaking to Rolling Stone for her cover of “Behind Blue Eyes” by the Who for video game Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred last year, Cabello shared that she loved “almost acting when I’m singing.” The film announcement comes about a year after she released the “Magic City Edition” of her album C, XOXO. She also joined Adam Port, Stryv, and Malachiii on a viral remix of “Move” last year.

For his part, Kerman launched his own stand-up special for Netflix titled Bad Poetry, which was directed by John Mulaney. He’s also appeared in The Boys and Abbott Elementary, along with Peacock’s Bust Down.
