Miley Cyrus recorded a new song for Avatar: Fire and Ash, the superstar confirmed on social media on Wednesday.

In an instagram post accompanied with a brief snippet of the track, Cyrus confirmed that she wrote the song, with hitmakers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. She didn’t include a track name in her post.

“Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me,” Cyrus wrote. “Thank you, Jim, for the opportunity to turn that experience into musical medicine. The film’s themes of unity, healing and love resonate deeply within my soul, and to be even a small star in the universe the Avatar family has created is truly a dream come true.”

The Avatar song marks Cyrus’s first release since releasing her ninth studio album and accompanying film Something Beautiful earlier this year. Cyrus is just the latest star for James Cameron’s Avatar franchise. The Weeknd released “Nothing is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” for The Way of Water back in 2022, while Leona Lewis recorded the theme for the original film from 2009.

Avatar: Fire and Ash is one of the most-anticipated box office smashes for the year, with the movie hitting theaters on Dec. 19. Cameron revealed in an interview earlier this year that the franchise’s third installment will be longer than 2022’s The Way of Water. The upcoming film’s cast will include franchise stalwarts Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña and Sigourney Weaver.
