A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a ute in Sydney’s south-west.

Emergency services were called to Roberts Road and Pelman Avenue in Greenacre about 5.50am, following reports that a car and a motorbike had collided.

Paramedics treated the motorcyclist, however, he was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

He has been identified as a 23-year-old civil engineering student from Greenacre who was on his way to work before the incident.

“I got on the phone to the ambulance straight away, I called triple zero and they were running me through it,” a neighbour said.

“[I] Cut off his backpack, left his helmet on, started pumping up his chest and then about five, 10 minutes later, the ambos came.”

The driver of the ute was also a 23-year-old man.

He was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

He is set to speak to police as they continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
