Ireland will take on New Zealand in Chicago in a rematch of their historic 2016 clash next week, but there has been some major changes revealed in the All Blacks camp ahead of that fixture.
Andy Farrell’s men will take on the All Blacks at Soldier Field on November 1st, aiming to repeat their famous victory at the same venue nine years ago. Whereas the Irish setup looks like a settled one heading into that game, there has been an announcement of a fairly big departure in the opposition camp.

Former Munster player Jason Holland has announced that he will leave New Zealand coaching ticket after this year’s autumn internationals.
Holland has been part of the backroom team since Scott Robertson took the job in 2023, although he has now opted to step aside. His initial two year contract expires after the next test window, with the former Hurricanes coach opting against a renewal.
Speaking to the New Zealand media, Holland said that he felt like now was the correct time to move on.
Obviously, I’m coming to the end of my contract, which expires at the end of this season.
And as you do when you get towards the end of a contract year, you have a think about what’s next, and my gut feeling has told me that the best thing for me is to move on.
It’s been a massive privilege to be involved with such quality people, both management and players. It’s just a case of gut feel and it being time to move on.
I’m really grateful for what the last couple of years have given me, and really excited about the next four or five weeks as well.
Jason Holland had a lengthy spell with Munster as a player, lining out for the province from 1999-2008. He would then take up a coaching role with the team before returning to his native New Zealand in 2012.
While he will be part of the All Blacks backroom team over the coming weeks, his departure is the latest in what has been an unsettled coaching setup during Scott Robertson’s tenure.
Ireland will no doubt be hoping that this development can unsettle the New Zealand camp ahead of what looks set to be a massive game in Chicago next week.
