The defender was livid after the crisis-hit Light Blues slumped to a dismal 3-0 defeat in Norway

James Tavernier has been lambasted for ripping into his teammates in the wake of Rangers’ horror show in Norway.
Crisis-hit Gers crashed to a shocking 3-0 defeat to Brann and hit rock bottom in the Europa League standings without a point to their name.
Skipper Tavernier was at fault for the opener after wandering aimlessly out of position before the Norwegians put the game out of sight in the second-half.
Yet despite his blunder, Tavernier couldn’t hide his disgust, branding the overall performance “disgraceful” and questioning his teammates’ hunger.
However, his damning post-match verdict didn’t go down well with Celtic legend Peter Grant who reckons the defender would’ve been better keeping his anger in-house.
He told Go Radio: “Listen, you’ll know that I try to stick by James Tavernier at times. But last night, that is the night he should have shut his mouth.
“He was awful with the ball at his hands, at his feet and his positional play for the first goal… deary me. Wow.
“Defensively, we keep talking about him. The ball is on the other side of the park.
“Jayden Meghoma gets a lot of stick but he was in support. Tavernier’s got to be round. Where is he?
“John Souttar’s got to be taking a lot of responsibility as well.
“Because his job is to be saying to James Tavernier, ‘you get in here.’ So coming out and slaughtering players and teams?
“Hey, look in the big mirror first son before coming out and having a go at your teammates. I don’t care if he’s had a go in the dressing room.”
