The Gist
InStyle held its second Imagemaker Awards, honoring influential stylists, makeup artists, and hairstylists across film, television, music, and culture.
The star-studded affair was attended by Jenna Ortega, Kerry Washington, Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Olsen, Brittany Snow, and so many more.
In a particularly heartwarming and hilarious moment, George Clooney and Adam Sandler honored Laura Dern with the Woman of Impact award.
Ding! The InStyle Elevator is here, and it’s only going up. The celebrity-loved lift returned yesterday evening at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards, championing Hollywood’s leading beauty and style creatives for the second year in row—and it was one glamorous, starry affair.
The annual soirée, which took place at a private residence in Los Angeles, honors influential stylists, makeup artists, and hairstylists across film, television, music, and culture. These visionaries don’t just help their clients appear camera-ready flawless, they drive impact, catalyze conversations, and inspire movements. In other words, they’re deserving of their flowers, and their A-list muses showed up to hand them out.

Kerry Washington honored her longtime hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew.
After the 2024 awards saw Lana Del Rey make her first post-marriage appearance and John Mulaney surprise Olivia Munn with an emotional (and hilarious) speech, anticipation was high, but wow, did last night’s cohort deliver. Heidi Klum had a sweet, pizza-filled mommy-and-me date with her handsome model son, Henry Samuel; Brittany Snow and Katie Lowes enjoyed a cheeky Hunting Wives reunion with plenty of bubbly; Lisa Rinna made so many new best friends on the red carpet; and everyone was, unsurprisingly, dressed, glammed, and coiffed to the nines.
September cover star Kerry Washington was all giggles and smiles while spotlighting hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew, the mastermind behind everything from the actress’s fluffy hydrated curls to Old Hollywood updos. October cover girl Elizabeth Olsen looked effortlessly chic (as per usual) while presenting her makeup extraordinaire and dear friend Gita Bass with her accolade.
Adam Scott honored the guru behind his dapper and playful suits, fashion stylist Ilaria Urbinati. Meanwhile, Zazie Beetz showered hair stylist Lacy Redway with all the love, pulling her in for a big embrace after giving heartfelt remarks. May cover queen Jessica Biel shined a light on the woman responsible for her ever-present radiant glow, makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua. And Riley Keough stepped out for a rare, post-baby appearance with none other than her stylist and confidant Jamie Mizrahi.

Jenna Ortega presented her stylist, Enrique Melendez, with the Future of Fashion Award
No dry eye stood a chance when Jenna Ortega took the podium to honor her incomparable stylist, Enrique Melendez, with the Future of Fashion award. The Wednesday star stunned in a sheer, lilac-colored gown with a plunging neckline and high-leg slit, another exceptional look to demonstrate Melendez’s genius. “Enrique was one of the first people who ever made me feel seen or heard…It’s been really really wonderful. You’ve grown and shaped me in the most beautiful ways. You’re my big brother,” she said while tearing up.
The night wasn’t complete without plenty of laughs and surprise thanks to George Clooney and Adam Sandler, who unexpectedly popped in to crown their Jay Kelly costar Laura Dern with the Woman of Impact award. In true Sandler form, he celebrated Dern’s work amplifying women in Hollywood on-and-off camera with some comedy: “Her kids love her, my kids love her, my wife loves her, George loves her, I love her, America loves her, Noah Baumbach loves her, Thomas Edison would have loved her. If she was around in those days, dare I say, there would have been electricity,” he said. Dern returned the love, expressing gratitude for her “literal brothers” and the “incredible women” they married.

Once everyone wiped away their tears, it was back to mixing and mingling with the party-people in attendance, including Thora Birch, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Gavin Casalegno, Chloe Cherry, Supriya Ganesh, Kim Petras, Justin Theroux, Jackie Tohn, Tonatiuh, Rachel Zoe, and more. Thanks to Citizen Watches’ dazzling champagne wall, the bubbles never stopped flowing; e.l.f. kept things hot with a touch-up station; and because you can never have enough bling, Pandora iced out guests with beautiful talisman necklaces.
