Justin Bieber famously got his start on YouTube, but now he’s making his mark on another video platform.
The “Peaches” singer surprised fans Wednesday when he popped up on the livestreaming service Twitch, promising followers that it would be far from the only time they’d see him there while he gears up to headline Coachella next year.
“This is our space for the next few months, so excited,” Bieber said, per Billboard. “I’m gonna be putting on a hell of a show for you guys at Coachella. I can’t wait. So getting ready, getting the gang together, get inspired.”
Bieber encouraged fans to tune in, because he’ll be filming “pretty much every day.” He added, “It’s gonna be awesome.”

Friday’s stream featured Bieber and some friends shooting basketball while being critiqued by a pro and having a serious conversation about the game around a table. Previous streams have featured a look at the setup for his shows, as well as Bieber skateboarding and shooting pool.
The Canadian singer, 31, was just 12 when he began posting clips of himself singing songs by Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, and Lil Bow Wow on YouTube. It was there that he was discovered by Scooter Braun, his now-former manager.
Eight albums into his career, Bieber is making a foray into livestreaming six months before his big performance at the annual music and arts fest in Indio, Calif. Bieber is topping the Coachella bill alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G.
Other artists performing include Devo, Moby, Teddy Swims, the Strokes, Addison Rae, David Byrne, Interpol, Young Thug, Iggy Pop, FKA Twigs, and a collaboration between Trent Reznor’s Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize dubbed Nine Inch Noize.
Reports have estimated that Bieber will collect a $10 million paycheck for the job, which would make him the festival’s highest-paid act ever.
