If you’re a political junkie, you no doubt devoured this scathing column.

Dimitri Soudas, once a top aide to former Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper, had some harsh words for the party’s current leader.

“Pierre Poilievre is dismantling the principled, serious and credible Conservative Party Harper worked so hard to lead and bring to power, one of substance, maturity and integrity,” Soudas wrote in The Toronto Star.

His words — and the reaction that followed — are the focus of this week’s episode of The Paikin Podcast, featuring the show’s “Everything Political” panel (former MPs Tony Clement and Martha Hall Findlay).

Are the knives out for Poilievre? Did Harper green-light the column? How will it impact January’s looming leadership review?
