Ruben Amorim claimed three Premier League wins for the first time as his Manchester United side left an impression on former player Danny Welbeck following their victory over BrightonRuben Amorim is on his best winning run as Man Utd bossRuben Amorim is on his best winning run as Man Utd boss

Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck claimed that Ruben Amorim‘s team were the “best United side we have faced in a while” as they made it three wins on the bounce by downing Brighton.

The Red Devils are continuing to build momentum and have claimed a hat-trick of wins in the Premier League for the first time since February 2024. Amorim has copped plenty of criticism amid talk he could lose his job, but watched on as his team beat the Seagulls 4-2.

Brighton secured victory at Old Trafford last season but found themselves 3-0 down at Old Trafford before a late rally, only to concede the final goal of the game. It means that United have been able to build on their statement win over Liverpool eight days ago.

Welbeck has previously enjoyed success against his former club and was again on the scoresheet, but this time in a losing effort. The frontman was hugely impressed with the organisation they came up against – something that has been cited as an issue previously.

He told Sky Sports: “It is the best [Manchester United] side we have faced in a while. They were really organised and structure, they always have incredible players and today they really punished our mistakes. A difficult game but one we can look back and analyse. I do believe we can come here and get the three points.”

Amorim has stuck defiantly to his beliefs and his system, often claiming their losses have not been due to the formation and tactics he employs. The United boss has expressed no desire to change despite not having all the players capable of employing his plan.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes continue to pair up in midfield, which has been exploited by opponents this term, but the duo were able to help United to another three points at the weekend. The win moving them above Liverpool and level on points with Manchester City.

Three of United’s four goals were scored by summer signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and Amorim believes the Manchester outfit look more and more like his team.

He said: “I think they are more confident. I think the best game that we did this season was against Arsenal, was the first one. But then, when you are a little bit more confident, when you have a different spirit, sometimes you have a little bit [of] luck in certain moments of the game that help you to win games.”
