It’s set to be a miserable end to the month as Ireland is predicted to be hit by torrential downpours and strong, powerful winds over the coming days
A weather expert has warned the Ireland will be hit by heavy showers and strong winds on Thursday
Met Eireann is predicted to issue a number of weather warnings over the coming days as Ireland is set to be hit by torrential downpours and powerful winds later this week.
A leading meteorologist has warned that we are in for a ‘very unsettled of weather ahead with a risk of weather warnings’ being issued by Met Eireann on Thursday as conditions are set to take a drastic turn.
Cathal Nolan, climate scientist and founder of Ireland’s Weather Channel, issued a weather update to his followers on Sunday evening, as he predicted some heavy downpours later in the week which could lead to flooding in some areas.
Nolan also said it will be a blustery week with Ireland set to be battered by strong winds as we head towards the weekend.
“In terms of the weather, we have plenty going on this week,” he said.
“We have a pretty overcast, unsettled day on Monday as an area of low pressure slips down from the Northwest, bringing with it outbreaks of rain across the country.
“The best chance of drier conditions in the South and Southeast, but plenty of rain expected in parts of Ulster and Connacht.
“Into Tuesday, showery rains across the country, westerly winds fresh and gusty at times, but with plenty of heavy showers too, and some sunny spells in between those showers, where there will also be a risk of hail as well.
“Mixed conditions continue on Wednesday, ahead of what we’re keeping an eye on on Thursday.
“It looks as though we will see a deep area of low pressure bringing heavy rain and the potential for some strong winds.
“Beyond that, it looks like remaining very unsettled indeed with further deep areas of low pressure, bringing with it the risk of some localised flooding, and indeed, stronger winds as well.”
