IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, spoke at an operational conference with the IDF combat commanders forum and said: “You are the most important forum in the IDF, the generation of victory and also the generation of sobriety. You commanded the IDF during one of the most complex and challenging periods in Israel’s history.” According to Zamir, “The IDF looks to the future with the past on its shoulders. Drawing lessons and learning constitute our moral and professional duties. We must now strengthen the foundations and routines, take care of the people and their families and prepare for the upcoming challenges that exist in all sectors.”
