The Woolworths hot cross bun collaboration with Cinnabon saw more than 300,000 packets sell in less than 10 weeks and now they’ve have gotten together again. This time, for a cake.
The new limited-edition cake will be available for purchase from Wednesday, October 29, and retails for $10. The Aussie supermarket giant described the cake as “the perfect way to spice up morning and afternoon teas, or indulge in a simple sweet treat.”
“The cake features a light sponge swirled with Cinnabon’s signature cinnamon spice and finished with a fluffy cream cheese frosting,” Woolworths added.
Nicholas Vavitis told Yahoo Lifestyle after recently trying the cake that he was “still dreaming about it”, because there’s “nothing on the market” quite like it.

Melbourne food blogger Nectro Vlangos said he thinks the cake “needs to stay [in stores] permanently”.
“I love Cinnabon and loved the hot cross bun collab so when I saw there’s a cake I knew it will be just as good if not better,” Nectro said.
The boys agreed that the $10 price point was fair, with Nick saying it’s “extremely great value”.
Nectro noted cinnamon scroll from a bakery in Australia can end up being quite expensive, so this is actually a great price point.

Both foodies said they loved the flavour of the cake and the cream cheese frosting on top.
However, Nectro had one gripe — he thought it would be bigger.
“It’s six servings, allegedly,” he said.
“More like two.”
President of International and Retail Channels at GoTo Foods Dave Mikita said the US brand was excited to work with Woolworths on “another irresistible creation” after the “incredible response” to the hot cross bun.

Woolworths bakery merchandise manager Donald Keith said customers would be “delighted by this newest creation”.

“It’s a great example of how we aim to bring the best of the world’s trending flavours to Australia.”
