Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich appealed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu requesting to convene the security cabinet following Hamas violations. In a letter to Netanyahu, Smotrich stated that “in light of Hamas’ repeated violations of the ceasefire conditions and the first phase of President Trump’s plan, and the lack of progress in dismantling Hamas and demilitarizing Gaza, I ask you to urgently convene the security cabinet today to discuss and formulate a firm and resolute response package.” He added: “We cannot allow Hamas to mock Israeli citizens and cruelly and cynically play with the emotions of the families of the hostages who have fallen.”
