An elderly Donegal man faces sentencing for rape and sexual assault charges.
The man, who is in his late 80s, cannot be named to protect the anonymity of the victims in the case.
The man appeared before Judge John Aylmer at Letterkenny Circuit Court to affirm a signed plea of guilty in respect of the charges having been sent forward from the District Court.
The charges relate to incidents between December 2020 and January 2023 at a location within County Donegal. There are two victims in the case.
The man is charged with raping a woman contrary to Criminal Law (Rape) Act 1981.
He also faces four charges of sexual assault, contrary to section 2 of the Criminal Law (Rape) (Amendment) Act 1990.
