The Farmers’ Initiative for Resilient and Sustainable Transformations (FIRST) funds emissions reduction projects across agriculture, which produces around 40% of human-emitted methane and two-thirds of nitrous oxide and is increasingly impacted by climate change and crop-damaging tropospheric ozone.
The initiative is part of the CCAC’s super pollutants “solutions pipeline” approach – from science to identify effective strategies, policy development to spur solutions and on-the-ground implementation to deliver climate and air quality benefits. It takes hands on a ‘what is in it for farmers’ approach.
