A senior US official told Al Jazeera that “Israel’s response to the violation has ended and the ceasefire has been renewed.” He added: “We have seen many violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip by Hamas in recent days. Israel’s response was limited, focused on Hamas leaders and operatives, and did not lead to the collapse of the ceasefire.” The official also said that “senior American officials will soon visit Israel to understand what is happening on the ground and to move toward a stable peace. We are holding talks to calm the situation in the Gaza Strip. Efforts to find the bodies of the hostages and return them to Israel continue.”
