Ireland will take on New Zealand in Chicago on Saturday evening, with Andy Farrell set to recall some big names to the starting XV as his team go in search of another victory over the All Blacks at Soldier Field.

The Irish team will return to the venue of their famous 2016 win over New Zealand, hoping for a repeat result nine years on. As for the opposition, they will be keen to even the score against Ireland on American soil.

Farrell has an incredibly strong squad to choose from for this game, with the majority of Ireland’s big guns recalled for the November internationals after being absent from the team’s season-ending mini tour due to Lions commitments.

Ireland vs New Zealand – Who’s In?

Most of Ireland big guns have been recalled to the squad this month, having previously been absent for the end of season summer fixtures against Portugal and Georgia.

Writing in the Irish Independent Wednesday evening, Cian Tracey says Jack Crowley is expected to get the start at outhalf over Sam Prendergast.

Caelan Doris is likely to make his first test appearance since the Six Nations in this game, although it remains to be seen if he will be fit enough to start and captain the side. Gerry Thornley writes in the Irish Times that Doris expected to start from the bench.

The majority of Ireland’s Lions contingent have also returned to the squad. The likes of Bundee Aki, Robbie Henshaw, Jack Conan, and Tommy O’Brien have shaken off recent injury concerns and are available for selection.

Due to a couple of injury issues elsewhere in the squad, O’Brien is likely to start this game on the wing, while Jamie Osborne is seen as the favourite to be named at fullback. Jack Crowley has been tipped to get the nod ahead of Sam Prendergast at out-half.

Leinster prop Paddy McCarthy and Munster centre Tom Farrell are the only uncapped players in the squad.

Ireland vs New Zealand – Who’s Out?

The fringe players who featured during the summer aside, there have been some key personnel ruled out of this game due to injury.

Mack Hansen is unavailable as a result of the foot injury he picked up earlier this month. Elsewhere, Hugo Keenan is also absent because of the hip problem that has ruled him out of the start of Leinster’s URC campaign.
