Gardaí have closed a section of Dame Street in Dublin’s south city centre following an early-morning collision.

The incident, which reportedly involved a bin lorry, took place at about 1.45am.

A section of Dame Street between Parliament Street and South Great George’s Street remains closed and local diversions are in place.

The closure of Lord Edward Street and Dame Street has prompted diversions for Dublin Bus services.
