Free entry to state museums and archaeological sites resumes on designated Sundays

Free admission to archaeological sites, museums and monuments managed by the Culture Ministry will resume on November 2, applying on specific Sundays and commemorative dates throughout the year.

The ministry said free entry is offered on the first Sunday of each month from November 1 to March 31, as well as on the third Sunday within the same period.

Additional free-entry days include October 28 (National Holiday), April 18 (World Heritage Day, also known as International Day for Monuments and Sites), May 18 (International Museum Day), the last weekend of September (European Heritage Days), and March 6 (Melina Mercouri Memorial Day).

The ministry noted that these provisions do not apply to the Acropolis Museum, which sets its own free-admission dates. The museum allows free entry on March 6, March 25, May 18 and October 28, and partially during European Heritage Days, following a decision by its board of directors.
