When it comes to Willow Smith’s birthday candles her parents are ready to light ‘em up.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith reunited to mark their youngest’s 25th birthday with a rare joint message.
“You bring us as much joy as this video every single day,” Will, 57, and Jada, 54, wrote alongside an adorable throwback of their baby girl getting into the Halloween spirit while laying in a black coffin. “Happy Birthday, Spooky Girl.”
The estranged couple added in the Oct. 31 Instagram post, “We love you, Mom & Dad.”
The “Meet Me At Our Spot” singer was clearly delighted by her parent’s choice of celebratory video, commenting with a laughing crying emoji.
And having a message posted by both Will and Jada proves that the couple—who quietly separated in 2016—are as committed as ever to maintaining a loving relationship, with the two previously sharing that they had no plans to formalize their split.

“I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce,” she told NBC News in 2023. “We will work through whatever, and I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”
Jada—who also shares son Jaden Smith, 27, with Will—got candid about the couple’s relationship status in her 2023 book Worthy, explaining that while there will always be love, they had to find a new way to look at their relationship.

“Why it fractured, that’s a lot of things,” she explained to Today while discussing the memoir. “I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”
Will—who is dad to son Trey Smith, 31, with ex Sheree Zampino—echoed the statement at an event promoting her book.
“Jada is the best friend I have ever had on this planet,” he said, according to The Baltimore Banner, “and I am going to show up for her and support her for the rest of my life.”
