Liverpool have lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions, but owners Fenway Sports Group are said to be fully behind head coach Arne Slot

Despite a challenging few weeks for Liverpool, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are reportedly standing by manager Arne Slot. The Reds have suffered six losses in their last seven matches, sparking speculation about Slot’s future.
This is uncharted territory for the Dutchman, who took the Premier League by storm last year, clinching the title in his debut season. Now, Liverpool are gearing up to bounce back in their home match against Aston Villa, before welcoming Real Madrid to Anfield for a Champions League clash on Tuesday.
Next, they’ll be heading to the Etihad Stadium to take on Manchester City before the international break. In the run-up to these pivotal matches, the Daily Mail reports that FSG remain fully confident in Slot, with his agent Rafaela Pimenta already having ‘held talks’ over a potential contract extension.

FSG, known for their hands-off approach with both Liverpool and the Boston Red Sox, have left day-to-day communication to sporting director Richard Hughes, Slot’s primary point of contact. The report adds that those discussions have continued unaffected, despite a difficult two-month spell.
Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo has also reported that there’s been no indication Liverpool are questioning Slot’s future – the second manager to lead the Reds to a top-flight title since Sir Kenny Dalglish in 1990.
During Liverpool’s press conference on Friday, Slot was asked about his contract situation at the club.
The Dutch boss is halfway through his three-year contract, which he signed when he took over from Jurgen Klopp last year.

“This is the last question that I was expecting!” he chuckled. “I think my focus should be completely on getting Liverpool back on winning ways. That’s my first answer.
“And my second answer is that contract talks, if they are even there, we never speak about this here. But let us first start to win again, that’s what my main focus is on.”
Just three weeks ago, rumours were swirling that Slot’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, was discussing a potential extension for Slot.
“I don’t talk about contracts in public and I like that so much because if you start to talk so much off the record, your life is going to be much harder,” Slot also previously stated away from the cameras.
“I will always say on and off the record the same. So I say nothing or what I think I should say.”
