The Interamerican Scout Conference has decided that the Asociación de Scouts de México will host the 18th Interamerican Scout Jamboree and 5th Interamerican Scout Camporee(JamCam 2029) at Meztitla, Mexico’s National Scout Camp School, in 2029.
Held every four years in a different country of the Interamerican Region, JamCam is the largest regular event organised by the Region, bringing together up to 10,000 participants from across the Americas and beyond. More than just a gathering, it is an educational experience that promotes peace, understanding, and intercultural exchange among young people. Participants aged 11 to 14 will attend the Camporee, while those aged 15 to 17 will participate in the Jamboree. Adults aged 18 and above will have the opportunity to serve as members of the International Service Team (IST), contributing their skills and experience to ensure an unforgettable event.
Under the theme“Building Peace, Celebrating Brotherhood,” JamCam 2029 will provide a platform for Scouts to learn new skills, embrace diversity, and strengthen regional unity through shared adventure and service. The programme will be designed to empower young people as peacebuilders, promote dialogue and cooperation, and celebrate the cultural richness that defines the Interamerican Region.
With its long Scouting tradition and proven experience in organising large-scale events, Mexico is ready to offer participants an inspiring environment that embodies the spirit of the Scout Movement. JamCam 2029 is expected to leave a lasting legacy by inspiring action for peace and sustainability, while strengthening the bonds of friendship and collaboration across the Americas. More details about the event’s dates and registration will be announced in the coming months.
