Sinn Féin is the most popular party in the country, a Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks opinion poll has suggested.

The first survey since the Presidential Election puts Sinn Féin on 23% – up two points.

The poll indicates Fine Gael dropped by two points to stand at 19%, while Fianna Fáil decreased by the same margin to stand at 18%.

The Social Democrats are on 9% – up one point.

Aontú are unchanged on 6%.

Both Labour and Independent Ireland are up one point and both stand at 5%.

People Before Profit-Solidarity is unchanged on 3%.

The poll suggests support for the Green Party increased by one point to 2%.

Independents stand at 10% – down one point.

The latest Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll was conducted on 31 October.

The sample size was 1,609, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.5%.
