The 75-year heat records for November at the station measuring temperatures in Jerusalem were broken today when 31.8 degrees Celsius (89.2°F) was recorded – the previous record was 31.2 degrees Celsius at this station in November. This was reported by Dr. Amir Givati, director of the Meteorological Service, who noted that the station has been operating continuously since 1950. The service added that the warming trend will continue tomorrow and the day after, and it is possible that 83-year-old historical heat records will also be broken in the capital. Meanwhile, the rainfall stoppage continues and extreme dryness prevails – in most areas of the country, no precipitation has fallen at all since the beginning of the rainy season until now.
