Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has reported significant battlefield gains in the Pokrovsk area, where its elite Alpha special operations unit carried out a series of successful missions against Russian forces over the past month.

According to SBU’s official statement, more than 1,500 Russian troops were eliminated in operations conducted by the Alpha unit around Pokrovsk and nearby settlements. Ukrainian special forces also destroyed 20 tanks, 62 armored vehicles, and nearly 40 artillery systems, including multiple rocket launchers used to shell the city.

The SBU noted that the Alpha group intensified its presence on this front following an escalation in hostilities. “They perform complex missions in the hottest zones, delivering precise strikes on enemy units,” the agency said.

To support Ukrainian drone attacks, the unit reportedly neutralized 18 Russian air defense and electronic warfare systems, opening “corridors” for unmanned strikes. In addition, Alpha forces conducted several raids behind enemy lines, destroying three large depots containing ammunition and fuel.

In total, the SBU listed the following Russian losses over the past month:

Over 1,500 personnel

20 tanks

62 armored vehicles

39 artillery and rocket systems

10 air defense assets

8 electronic warfare systems

532 vehicles

592 fortified positions

3 large depots (2 ammunition, 1 fuel and lubricants)

The SBU emphasized that all engagements were recorded and verified with video evidence. “The SBU acts professionally and precisely, using all available means both at the front and deep behind enemy lines,” the agency stated.

Pokrovsk, a key transport and logistics hub in the Donetsk region, has seen some of the most intense fighting in recent weeks as Russian forces attempt to advance westward.

Earlier, Ukraine’s military intelligence agency (HUR) reported that its “Timur” special unit was actively engaged in Pokrovsk, where Russian assault forces were concentrating their offensive.

According to HUR, the goal of the operation was to secure key logistics routes and prevent further Russian advances, with Ukrainian forces establishing a ground corridor and reinforcing their positions following an airborne insertion.
