A former Amazon Web Services employee convicted of what was, at the time, the second largest data breach in US history has been sentenced to time served for the second time after the government succeeded in undoing the sentence on appeal.

The US District Court for the Western District of Washington acknowledged Monday that it did “a poor job” of articulating its reasons for Paige Thompson’s original sentence. The court also made new findings after some of its earlier conclusions—including that Thompson was “tortured and tormented about what she did”—were deemed clear error.
