Captivity survivor Rom Breslavski revealed for the first time that he was sexually assaulted during the 738 days he was held in Gaza. Rom said: “No one went through what I went through. They stripped me of all my clothes, underwear and everything. They tied me up when I wasn’t wearing anything, and I was torn apart, dying, without food.” This was published by the British newspaper Daily Mail from an exclusive interview by Roni Aviram with Breslavski, which will be broadcast tomorrow on Channel Tsinor at 21:30. Breslavski said: “This is sexual violence, and its purpose was one thing – to humiliate. To step on my dignity, and that’s exactly what he did.” Rom was asked if this was an isolated incident, and he replied: “Yes. It’s hard for me to talk about this specific part. I don’t like talking about it. It’s something that even the Nazis didn’t do. You just pray that it will stop.”
