Raincouver is living up to its name this week, as the region is in for a continued wet start to November.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a rainfall warning for “back-to-back low pressure systems” expected to hit B.C.’s South Coast starting on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
According to ECCC meteorologist Brian Proctor, the frontal system will move very quickly across Metro Vancouver, followed by a second funnel wave.

“It will be a fairly interesting phenomena, similar to an atmospheric river,” Proctor told Daily Hive. “There are waves of moisture embedded across the frontal system.”
The prolonged duration of periodically heavy rain is forecast to last through Thursday night.
Significant rainfall is expected for parts of Metro Vancouver, with 50 to 70 mm falling in the North Shore (including West Vancouver and North Vancouver) as well as in the Northeast part of the region (including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge).
“Everyone is going to see rain,” added Proctor.
